Mount Olympus, the
Mountain of the Gods. For many it is a lifetime's ambition
to climb this peak. Fearsome though it may sound at 2917
metres above sea level, reaching its summit (known as Mitikas)
is well within the abilities of someone with good hill walking
experience, a reasonable head for heights, and some tuition
in the basics of scrambling. Let Boots And Gaiters take you
to its summit for an experience you are unlikely to forget.
We will take what we feel is the easiest route up the mountain,
the summit approach being made via the so-called kakee
skala ('naughty stairway'),
weather permitting. We would recommend that you attended
the Boots And Gaiters Skye Scrambles or Snowdonia
Scrambles courses if you wish to gain maximum value
from the Mount Olympus attempt. |
