The English Peak District is a low level walking area that
is ideally suited to those who have yet to venture into the
mountains. It is also excellent for children, usually once
over the age of 12 years. Despite the Peak District's popularity,
there are still walks to be found that can give an escape-from-it-all
feeling. Scrambling is limited, but the walking is good and
kind underfoot, although it can be muddy. Our accommodation
is normally in Hathersage, a short drive from the village
of Edale, and the start of the Pennine Way. The programme
comprises two walks, by the end of which you will most probably
have reached the summit of Kinder Scout and a number of other
well known Peak District peaks. A particularly gentle walk,
when the weather is bad, is our Plague Walk around the village
of Eyam. The pub lunch is highly recommended!
